| I dropped my transmission pan this afternoon planning on taking the valve body off to send to Mike at MV to do the shift kit mod, and it doesn't look the same as the other ones I have seen Check it out...
This is the one from planet soarer...
And this is mine.... Note how many more oil pickup points I have, the lack of tubes at the rear and solenoid positions etc etc.. Help.....!!! |

| Yeah..... I totally have a line pressure cable... So whats the story? Is this a normal V8 box Neil? Or are the later models a bit different... My mate has a 2J Aristo with stupid power and he got a 1.5 kit in it, but his box had no line pressure cable and it was rough as guts. |

| Different gearbox, different ratios, different everything most likely. |

| I'll take the A340 any day, the V8 box was a pain having to use Toyota fluid, so expensive to service! |

| So the V8 box is a A341? And the TT is a A340? Just for clarification... |

| My friend Google tells me that the above statement is indeed true. And also that the extra solenoid is a "soft shift" solenoid for low speed changes. Apparently anyway |

| It was inplemented into the TT box due to the boosted nature... WHen accelerating and coming on boost, torque can multiply drastically even at light throttle.. So Toyota came up with an idea of adding something to lesson the blow when boost comes on and the box wants to shift. Makes for a smoother ride. I wonder if this helps make the Shift kit nice and driveable at parth throttle in a TT compared to a V8? |

| I put everything back together last night and filled her up with oil, went for a run and I am still smiling effing awesome is the best way to describe it. Not very difficult, but very dirty and smelly job. Michael at MV was very helpful and easy to talk to. Thanks to all who helped me out in here too Highly recommended. |
