Hey I want to get this W55 gearbox off trademe (New Zealand's version of ebay)its only $500 bucks, hes got 3 different belhousings for it, does anyone reconise which one(if any) is the JZ engine bellhousing?

hey guys, sorry to post this here but, i dont know how to open a new thread, haling from out of jamaica, baught a soarer tt which was abused badly i sort out most of the problems, but my tranny is acting strange, when its cold, it is verry lazy, u got to realy get on it floor it for it to go but when its warmed up it runs fine, what do u think my problem could be,

Gart, start with getting a power flush done on the transmission with good AT fluid, preferably Toyota type 4 if available.

what is a power flush? do i just flush the tranny with some tranny flush and whats the procedure cause our mecanicks here may not know and the dealer u cant pay them after they worked, i made that mistake once , and then what what would i do next? i just took it to the shop to have it service clean the filter and re fluid about 1 month ago, they said the filter looked good nuthing in it, and how do i post my own thread? thanks

Power flush - they use a pump to force new fluid through the gear box. Just draining it doesn't do the job as a lot of fluid is trapped in the torque converter.

But if that was already done, then it might be something else eg sticky solenoids.

At the bottom of the list of threads, is a "Start new Thread" button.
