Hi, I am slowly eliminating my issues. The ECT warning used to come on after a hard drive through a 10km mountain pass with hairpins every 200m. The fix was to stop for a while and then carry on. NOW the ECT warning comes on on during a highway cruise and the Fix is to turn the O/D off and it goes out immediately but will immediately reappear when the O/d is turned back on. After 15 minutes or so I can re engage the O/D and it will stay be OK but there is no kick down and acceleration is slow. It is like it is in safety mode. Resetting the ECU's by cutting off the power at the battery returns the car to normal acceleration. The transmission needs a flush and service -Is there anything else that is obvious. thanks Michael

AND' $320 from Castle Hill Toyota and it has to come from Japan. As I am going away S.A for 6 weeks it will have to wait till i get back. The hardest part was finding the diagnostic box, It was the last box left to be opened, I know it says Diagnostics on the lid. "NOW." Again Thanks

Hey Michael I have the same problem but when I went to Toyota in seven hills and they told me that there’s 4 different sensors on the transmission. So which one is it and can you give me a product number .you see when I drive my car after about 15 or 20 minutes an ECT warning light comes on and it tells me to turn off O/D but affect anything the car drives fine.

Hi Luke, I have been off line in Adelaide since late december sans uzz32 as I did not want take my dodgy transmission on a 3500km trip. Follow daniel lee's post above. For me it was no 2 solenoid which my mechanic is doing tomorrow along with a flush. Solenoid $320 from castlehill toyota and about two weeks delivery from Japan. I've read heaps of stuff about just cleaning the filters so thats all I'm going to do unless my mechanic says I really need one.

Wwwwhooooo, The car is finally set up right and now it accelerates without any flat spots or cut outs from O kph to the speed limiter in just about as spec times. Now that the mechanicals are all sorted I can spend time and effort on the cosmetics. Thanks every one for your help This is easily the best car I have ever had.
