Just get a shift kit and a tranny cooler. Wont need a built auto for a while, and if you do need a built transmission, you can always use the shift kit and cooler you have and reduce the cost anyway.

360hp@treads.....not too much for a factory auto. Unless you drive like a c*nt.

Say goodbye to fuel economy . Nothing wrong with an a340e gearbox to handle 356rwhp .

Have you tried rebuilt boxes or you just been trying old 2nd hand ones ?

Im sure a rebuilt one with better clutch packs would hold 350rwhp with ease.

Hey Chris, can I have the sensors in the output of your auto? There is 2, one has a white plastic cog on it, mine I think is playing up, so I want to test a different one in there.

Did you get the C4 in and running?

A friend of mine is running T400 and it is built and does stand up to similar horsepower to what you are putting down.

I only really need the one with the plastic cog, will PM you and see if we can get in touch.

Also have an entire stock spare gearbox (except that sensor) sitting here, so if you want anything off it. Let me know.

I have two spare sumps too, as I'm running a surf sump to triple my gearbox sump capacity....

I also have a HUGE gearbox cooler here too....

I used to have gearbox issues.

Shift kit normally helps the gearbox by transferring the stress to the diff which might then fail.

Interesting question though, I don't know if anyone has established a relationship between shift kits and failed gearboxes.

hi guys chris here again . well im still waiting to get under way with my gearbox. and once again i have changed my mind. LOL (I have to much time to sit and think) what this time i hear you say! .... a trimatic. trimatic's when built up can handle 700hp+ and are cheap. then i can put a high stall converter in it and use my b&m shifter and most important top gear powerskids. ha ha ha
And robert i have not forgotten about you. as soon as my old gear box is out i will give you that cog you are looking for of my broken box

why would anyone even consider putting a traumatic in a car by choice. They were a good transmission for what they were designed for (a hb torana) thats about where it stops. Even when beefed up to death when they fail its always pretty spectacular. Try speaking to some old fart mechanics like me who are old enough to remember just how bad they were. If you want a trans that wont break get yourself an old power slide (oops my bad, my anti gm feelings coming out power glide ) unfortunately only 2 speed but will almost never break regardless of how much grunt you heave at them. Surely in this day and age there has to be some better trans options around than that.
