It took about 2 weeks. They had to wait for a sprag to come into stock. But after it was posted it only took about 5 days.
I got two quotes this morning both came in at about $1500 and that’s with me supplying the converter. I have sent Cam an email to try and find out which transmission place he used.

The cheapest quote so far is $750 at Aspley auto transmissions at Stafford. (They are not even in Aspley lol)
They do quite a bit of work on high powered cars and boats. I showed the kit to the dude, and he said that it was good quality but maybe a bit overpriced. He reckoned that he could supply the same kit for about $200 cheaper.

Grant the company was called deans automatics at capalaba, give them a bell and see if they will beat your best quote, also i removed the transmission for them, it takes 45min to remove when you have a hoist

I "think" it was 21 and 26 but either way they are different and that is all that matters I guess.
Very interested in your build up.
Cameron: what rebuild kit did you use for yours? Same as Grant or different?
Grant: So Aspley auto transmissions reckon they can supply a rebuild kit for about $750ish? Then just got to get it installed.
The one you got doesn't have the modified valve body does it? That bit seems a tad expensive compared an MV shift kit.
Might check with these IPT guys that they suit an A3041LE from a jzx81.
Have you got a price on modding a stock converter from QCES? What sort of stall speed are you looking for? I got 2 done there a while ago. This was when I had the monster laggy 65mm turbo (non bb) and the first one I got was no where near loose enough and I could still only get 2500rpm out of it (no boost til about 4000rpm) and now with that same converter but with a Hypergear TR44 (non hf so basically a non bb gt3076) I can get 3000rpm out of it. This is in a corona that is obviously much lighter and also no handbrake to hold it still.
The second converter I got made but I never installed it. I sold it to Aaron Mead who installed it on a 1.5jz apparently but I never heard how it went. It was meant to be a 4000 stall though.
I was looking to get a 2800 MV stally for my 1j cressida that is running a .8 GT3076R.

Also, why did you choose the IPT kit? Doing some searching on sf.com and some people are not liking their customer service but haven't got too much info. on the products themselves as most people tend to go for Boost Logic trans over there.
Aspley autos said they wouldn't do the job. Don't want performance applications it seems.

Thanks Chris for the info on the splines. The one I purchased has about 32 spline grrrr looks like I got sold the wrong thing. Anyway I am just going to get my one done when they have the auto out.
I choose the IPT kit as it was recommended by Cam. Aspley auto will install the IPT kit for about $750.
I am doing a track day at Lakeside on the 10th of September (My auto should be pretty much screwed after that). So I will get the kit installed thereafter.
I have not got a price from QCES yet. I am looking to just get it blast furnaced to strengthen it. I am happy with the stock stall; my GT35 with the .63 housing comes on nice and early

You must have been extra nice to Aspley auto then or maybe they thought I was hardcore or something? I just said I wanted something to hold 400rwhp. Sounded like he got a bit scared or something? And he was iffy on if other shops would install a rebuild kit that they haven't sourced.
Either way, I have found a place closer to me that said they would do it if I go down that path.
Saw MV quoted $2850 for stage 2 box (not spragless) with shift kit and 3000 stall so I may just go with that?
What sort of rpm can you get with your stock stall on the foot brake?
I would have thought our boost threshold would be pretty similar then but I will be going for the 2800 based on Ben Burgess's success with it.
Cameron: any input on the IPT kit you would like to share? How do you think it compares to an MV stage 2 or 3?

oh yeah, the spare box I would be doing this to already has shimmed accumulators and upped line pressure so I wasn't really sure on how much difference a modified valve body would be to what it currently has?
