Hi guys,

Half way through a gearbox change over for my uzz31, and have come to a spectacular halt because, apparently, not all 30-41LE's are created equal.

The main connector on the old box has 6 pins.
The new gearbox's connector has 8 pins. This connector is the one relating to the shift solenoids.

There is another connector on the other side which is different as well (but not such a big problem as I believe it can be swapped between the two).

I've searched and googled the hell out of these part numbers with no luck.

Does any one know why these boxes would be different, and what the other 2 wires for this connector would be for?

Only difference I can see is the part number stamp on the side of the boxes:
Existing- AISIN 8930 15
New- AISIN 8930 18

Cheers.

Could possibly be out of a post 94 car as there are some differences, not 100% sure but I believe Mario Lentini has had a similar issue.
Cant remember what he did to overcome it, try sending him a PM and have a talk to him.

We may have the solution. It looks like there is a temperature sensor in the newer box, so with a bit of luck we'll just remove it and change the connectors over.
