My 91 soarer have this issue of a weak acceleration with overdrive on, thus i normally leave it off and its fine. My Mechanic told me that it was the solenoid issue and if i wanted to resolve it, the solenoid would have to be replaced.

Anyone knows about this issue or have similar issues and knows the pricing of the solenoid?

If it is the solenoid that is causing the problem a complete set of solenoids is about $180, I'm not sure if they can be purchased individually.

Other problems can be wire harness splits, and bad ground or solder joint on the solenoid causing it not to work.
