Hey Guys ,

Today when moving slowly in a car park, I noticed a sound as if my car was dragging something along underneath. I checked but couldn't see anything, and then realised that it seemed to begin when the car was engaged in gear. (i.e In Neutral there was no noise, then when I engaged Drive I could hear it).

Obviously this doesn't inspire good things, so thought I'd post and see if anyone has any info/advice.

I'll check my trans fluids in the mean time..

Thanks,
Mark

Rattle in the exhaust system? Loose cat heat covers is not uncommon.

Brake shield rubbing perhaps. Get someone outside the car and try and locate the sound a little further.

Matt.

Except that wouldn't make a noise until the car was moving.

Jack the car up off the ground and start turning some wheels
then put some stands under the rear of the car and let it idle in drive this way you can see if there is a rock /stone lodged up under the cover above the drive shaft (gear lever area under the car)this some times happens and you will only pick it up when the drive shaft is turning

That would have been my guess too.

Check it.
