When i bought the car, it came with another auto and torque convertor. I assumed it was a TT A340.
I have taken the torque convertor to a guy to get it rebuilt and strengthened but he said its a V8 convertor! as the TT one is smaller!
Is the V8 A340 box the same as the TT one? IE: if i swap the bellhousing over from my stuffed TT auto to the spare V8 box, will it all bolt up? And fit on the 1J?
Also, is there any difference in the shift kit i have in the TT as i want to swap that over as well...?
If they are different, then i will have to buy another TT auto, which i cant really afford, so anyone want to swap?
There is no stickers on the auto, they've rubbed off.

I was under the impression the V8 auto had electronically controlled line pressure, where as the TT has direct throttle controlled line pressure. Please, correct me if I am wrong people.

The earlier model V8's had a cable controlled line pressure. Don't know about your other questions though.

AFAIK the A3041LE was used behind jzx81 Chasers so to me that says that it will be the same as the v8 one and you will be able to use it. Why not just try and bolt the bell housing on and see if it fits. Check the plugs to the auto are the same and the kick down cable is same and then whack it in. I thought all valve bodies are the same with the 340e variants. Why not give Mike at MV a call as I am sure he will have definite answers to your questions.
