hey all.
ok so i took the hilux for a quick drive before i put it on the trailer from my mates place car is know black. but i can only get first and reverse gear.
i have currently put this into the box
mv auto 3000 grand stall
mv auto stage 1 shift kit
mv auto manual shift controller box
tranny cooler with a fan
b&m pro ratchet

know put it in first and drive is fine shift it to second does nothing shift it to thrid and sounded like it flared but did nothing. i got it off the trailer at home and checked the cable adjustment and moved it maybe 2 or 3 mm. started in first on the shift and manual down on the box moved it by hand to make sure the cable was right. and checked the oil its still brand new transmax.

ok so question 1
how do i check the tranny oil and what do i do as in have the car running get all warm.

question 2
what is wrong with the shift controller box. the box was wired up as per the instruction paper

this all came from a jzz30 soarer and is in a 2wd hilux. i will be callin mike on monday to ask question but thought to ask here as well. first gear is very toey and lots of fun
cheers ian

Eh just fill the transmission better.

Had similar problems when first filling the zed's tranny after the 1jz transplant.

Checking it will be through a dipstick but if the torque converter isn't full it'll still read full but it won't be actually using the fluid. I think you can reverse fill it by taking off a transmission line and pumping some oil in that way.

that's my solution in the thread.

WHen checking , always run it through the gears and check again .. Leep doing this until you get the correct measurement at idle in park .

Otherwise it could be the shift control box . TOymods has a few threads about the mv boxes .
