the pedal box requires 3 drill holes... 2 for the clutch master cylinder. and one for the bottom left bracket bolt near the heater unit.

1st conversion took me about 3 weeks just cause where it was and was doing other stuff at the same time.

the second one i done it took me 3-4 hrs and even had to do some custom modifying to get the gearbox mount to fit as was out of the jza70..

to run the standard clutch line you install it while you have the gearbox out and clip it into the firewall clips from underneath... easy as. no way would i try with gearbox in.

you have to cut a small portion of trans tunnel out for the shifter (91-93, i havent done a remote style so not sure bout that) this is sitting in front of where the auto shifter goes through and is basically marked out and slightly raised section. then make a small metal plate to cover the original hole from the auto shifter.

and for costa's defence when in a workshop it would take bit longer as you usually get randoms turning up and having to help them out. and also the time to take the one out aswell.

as a hard job to convert a 1jz id say it was actually quite easy but there is a chance to stuff it up bad... and not do a decent job.

It's just the positioning of the shifter. Remote shifter sits back more from the shifter input and the shift throw is shorter whereas the non remote goes straight in and has a longer shift throw

No it's not. A remote shifter sits on a bracket away from the box and basically that is it. it doesn't mean the shift will be shorter or not.
