hi everyone i'm about to start a manual conversion on my 1992 soarer. and i'm just making sure i have everything. but my main question is about the brakes and the booster thing
on my soarer i currently have the nitrogen canister style one in the top left corner of the engine bay.
on my manual half cut that top left unit is missing (hole in the fire wall) but there is this style one over on the right hand side. and i have what i think is the master cylinder aka the bit you fill up with fluid.
whats the story with this? which should i/can i use during my swap?
another thing i think i'm missing is the clutch lines or does this come out of the unit mentioned above? i do have the clutch master cylinder (part you fill up) but where it mounts on my half cut there doesn't seam to be any lines that run to it.
i asked this in the other conversion thread. but how big do i roughly need to cut the hole for the R145 remote shifter mechanism in the tunnel? i think i remember reading there's a slightly raised/embossed section that needs cutting and i need to fill in the old auto slot.

forgot to add, i also plan on putting an LSD in at the same time i do the swap. i asssume i still only need to lengthen the drive shaft by 50mm and nothing else.

i think i've answered my own question with, the pictured unit being for a car with out TRC which my donor car doesn't have. so i'll just keep the brake setup as is.

nump. still need an answer for the hole for the REMOTE shifter mechanism if any one has done this as its fouling before i can get the transmission into the pilot bearing.

This looks similar to the W58 remote shifter. Mine was fowling on the transmission tunnel. I had to cut a lot out and make a new hump shape metal piece to cover the hole I had to cut.
This was a must as I couldnt get the gearbox higher enough to inset into the engine.

thanks for the info dan, did a fair bit of googling but probably wasnt typing in the right things.
i'll have to knock something up at work to cover all those bits up and fill the hole behind it.
How much did it cost you guys to get your drive shafts extended? I think i got a little ripped as mine cost $605. That included a uni joint replacement as well.

Where did you get the extension done? If you think that is expensive, Toyota told me today I was looking at over 2k for a new factory one!
Just getting the last few parts so I can start installing the box. My pilot bearing turned up today, so just need the tail shaft fixed, and the top extension part of the gearbox repaired, and in she goes. I cut about the same amount out

i got my shaft done at gibsons drive shafts... its the only place in newcastle that will do that kinda work, so it was either go there or try and get it to sydney, which seemed like more trouble then its worth.
i'm actually having some trouble with my dam slave cylinder. with the hose i bought from drift motion bottoming out before the hose picks up. its not driftmotions fault. just the slave cyl hasn't got its thread tapped far enough in.
