Hey guys,

trying to get a suprastick over from the U.S though garrett wants to know some transmission details before I can order it (see below).

I've already let him know the make and engine model (94 TT auto) though he wants to double check the transmission details. This is all a bit over my head and couldn't find anything in search/google.

"The SSv4 is most
compatible with transmissions that use mechanical line pressure control.
Those have only 3 solenoids and have a throttle cable running down to the
transmission."

Car runs a mechanical cable for the line pressure . And there are 2 solenoids .

SO less than 3 and Mechanical cable . Should be ok to go .

Only problem you will find like others ,is the Suprastick isnt really pin-point for shift points when using the factory speed signal sensor as it provides 2 pulses per second as opposed to an ABS sensor which uses 24 .

Thats all i know anyways , hope it helps .

Thanks Daniel for clearing that up. I remember reading also something about if you connect it to the front wheels if the back wheels are spinning it won't know to change or something like that. Would hooking it up to the ABS sensor cause this.

Yep . You need to use the rear ABS sensor , however if 1 wheel spins more than the other , then it wont be 100% either . Thats why the factory uses one located on the output shaft of the box for conistency .

I know Ben Burgess back in the day used his rear abs sensor . Had a Torsen fitted . And never had any hiccups afterwards . Was very spot on with shift points .

if you use the rear abs sensor on the box its 37pulse per rev at about 100kph (depending on diff ratio) the sensor will go over the sample rate of the rabbit2000 module the supra stick is based on and it will read 0kph and try to pull the box back to 1st gear.

I used a jaycar speedo corrector to pull 60% out of the signal and it was fine...

I did end up however upgrading to a PCS TCM-2000

Thanks for the help guys. Guess I'll forward this info on and hopefully get one over soon if it's what I end up going with. In the mean time I posted up a another post about a guy interested in looking into making shift boxes for the soarer. His just got a few questions that are over the top of my head.

Luke, they work and work well. As Daniel has stated you just have to use the rear abs sensor and you'll be right. I'll be selling mine very soon if you're interested. I'm moving to a ratchet shifter and manual valve body so I'll no longer need it. Pm me if you're interested.
