Hey guys, I am going to be using a remote shift R154 out of a JZX90 for my manual conversion but for the speedo it is a mechanical one on the box. I was wondering if I can use the one off the factory auto box and simply swap it over or do I need to buy a digital speedo sender for the R154? If any thing where is the speedo sender unit located on the auto box, is it at the back of the box on the right hand side (looking from the back of the box)?

hey james.
i'm pretty sure the auto speedo sender is looking at the FRONT of the car the sender is on left hand side, about half way up the g/box near the rear of the gear box.
its held in by 1 or 2 screws if i remember. its actually a plastic cog that is turned by a worm wheel cog on the drive shaft, it all spins some little magnet thing... magic happens and it displays your speed.
from the little bit i've read you need a marlin crawler style unit from places like driftmotion.com but i'm not 100% sure. take a read from this thread about it.
