Well vaguely thinking about it anyway.

Just want to know:

How will slicks affect the transmission? Will it have more impact because of the harder leaves?

Will the transmission stand up for a while or is it going to give up in a short space of time?

What could be done to strengthen the transmission?

cheers guys.

From reading on US forums, a lot of people say that slicks are actually easier on drivetrain components. Sidewall flex is much greater so a lot of the impact is taken in the tyres rather than gearbox, diff etc.

Depending on how hardcore you are talking I would get the trans rebuilt by MV as that has proven it can take the punishment. 450rwkw and 10.3 second quarter on slicks so far in a turbo crown. I don't know exactly what they do to upgrade them though.

Pfft, high 12's. Go low 11's! :-)

For high 12's you should be right with a shift kit and stally rather than fullhouse rebuild. No doubt the upgrades wouldn't hurt but I don't think it is a necessity.

BTW I am racing in super street also because I don't fit into Sport RWD in sport compact :-(

It sucks that Soarers weren't made Sport Compact legal in the last round of rule changes, hopefully something that will be rectified this time around.

It's all you V8 owners' fault!

high 12 you would need shift kit cooler for the tranny.

i ran 12.9 with moderate mods running stock turbos.
