Anyone knows if i were to replace solenoids 3 and 4 that is meant for A340E into A341E SC400 V8 automatic gearbox if they would be the replacements?

Its tough to find A341E replacements here and the A340E seems to be the exact size and fitment of the solenoids i have on mine.

A341E SOLENOID ASSY, SHIFT CONTROL part #: 35270‑50010 (US$ 153.03 - amayama)
A341E SOLENOID ASSY, LOCK UP CONTROL #: 35280‑50010 (US$ 154.81 - amayama)

BTW, Solenoid #1 & #2 part number is the same: 85420‑50020 (US$ 165.48 each - Amayama)

The 340 & 341 solenoids aren't compatible.

You can order these through either
www.amayama.com or elmhurst toyota spare parts in the states http://service.elmhursttoyota.com/order-parts.aspx . Mildly cheaper from Japan, but takes an extra couple of days.

Much Much cheaper than in Aus

Check this site for these and other part numbers: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1990_TOYOTA_CELSIOR_UCF11-AEPQK_3512.html

Just out of curiosity, how do you know that its the lockup & shift solenoids that need replacing & not #1 & #2 ?

for clarification:

1 & 2 are shift,
3 for T/C lockup,
4 for accumulator pressure modulation/controlling shift shock

it is confusing, as #4 is referred to as SOLENOID ASSY, SHIFT CONTROL

That's another problem, i'm not sure which solenoids needs replacing, but i was guessing they could be sticky, thus did the change. Got some that fits the A341E but description states A340, apparently they are the same size and fits well (thus i went ahead to swap solenoids 3 and 4, couldn't find solenoid 1 and 2 in Australia).

I've this problem when i drive, and gear changes in Drive position with "slight jerks". Thus i'm sort of eliminating the issue with any possible problems one by one.

I will probably try someone else ECU and auto ECU to see if both of my ECU are the cause of the problems. If both aren't, i will probably order solenoids 1 and 2 to be replaced.
