Dear members. I still got this vibration I wrote about ages ago and never got to the bottom of it. Now it's getting worse. Noticeable most when off the power dropping through about 50 kmh to about 38kmh. Got under yesterday and the doughnuts look really good. Only very slight cracks in the little rectangle indentations between the bolts. Bolts look tight as. Otherwise look as new. Tranny mounts look really good also. Not wet with oil and firm.
Starting to think it may be the uni in the middle. Anyone done this one before? Have to remove the heat shield to get to it. Can do with the exhaust still on? Cost? Anybody, anybody, Bueller?

They don't have a uni , its a center bearing . Not hard to change , if you are going to try it just be on the safe side and mark the two shafts so they go back in the same place .Sounds like harmonics in the drive shaft , I would try getting a loan of some tail shaft couplers , one may have moved out of shape now that theres cracks in it .check that everything is tight in the drive line , CV joint bolts also , have seen them come loose . Best of luck.

Hey Thanks Mario Gees I was on the ground with my head cricked sideways and a torch shining up under the heat shield and I'm sure what I saw looked like a Uni coupling! Rubber couplings look good. Cracks are less than half a centermeter and nowhere near the edge so I think they're ok. Anyway I'll have to go buy another couple of axle stands so I have four to sit the car up on to get enough leverage to mess with it all. Thanks for your input too Shane. The underside of the car looks real good actually. Got it with 115 on the clock and am up to 123, but as stated I cant get enough purchase under there to move things too much. Woiuldn't Your own hoist be great?

Well I drive very sedately. Still had this vibration at around 35-45 km irregardless of what gear I'm in. Had, because decided to blow a few cobwebs away the other day and did a big bang start with TRC off leaving a huge cloud of rubber smoke behind. Gee first gets to 8,000RPM quickly! What do ya know? now the vibration has all but gone. I firken love this car!.
