Hi guys I just recently got a auto of a mate for spare parts, and when we removed the sump then the valve body to my surprise The accumulator did not have springs but instead alloy shafts, and the valve body has also been ported and modified. It looks like MV auto's work. But the question is how hard will it shift with solid shafts and not springs?

depends, the MV stage 2 is full manual shift and will not drive like a "normal" auto the 1.5 is just firmer quicker shifts and still drives like a normal auto...
Photos would be interesting...
I have had a look at a couple of MV autos, some stuff is good other stuff like the passage drilled in the back of the case that dumps a heap of line pressure leaves me scratching my head.

interesting observations about the line pressure, Allan. i thought it was vital to have that line pressure high, both to facilitate the hard shift and to avoid damage.(scratches head) my stage 2 shift kit still shifted automatically, but gave v hard shifts, even under light throttle. The 1.5 shift kit has firm shifts under throttle, but much nicer shifts under normal driving. the stage 2 shift kit is no longer made- invalidated by the development of the stage 1.5. I guess we need to make sure we don't get the stage 1 and 2 gearbox builds confused with the stages of shift kits, otherwise misunderstandings will happen.
