Easy in a hoist . Need to remove the mine pressure cable from throttle body . Much easier than opening gearbox to remove it .
Took me 4 hours to remOve shift kit , swap in new stally and box flush fluids . On hoist . 1st time too . Could do in less than 2 hrs if you new what you were doing

Man, the Dieseltrain has money for an iPhone, but not enough for cams or a tunable ECU? Where's your priorities, boy? Calum-try to use a hoist, and you need lots of extensions for your socket set to reach those top bolts. First thing to do is you need to remove exhaust, then driveshaft. then undo the bolts that hold the torque convertor to the ring gear.undo the gear lever linkage and all electrical plugs. then the cross member at the rear of the box, then undo the big bolts that hold bell housing to motor.I remember doing something with the starter motor too. Remember when you put the stall convertor back on the shaft, it has to slide on three clicks, otherwise you will smash the oil pump when you bolt the trans up again. the trans is heavy-40kg, plus all that fluid, and the stall convertor weighs about 14kg too from memory, so not a one person job.

It can be a one person job, just take your time, and know that it is damm heavy. Converted my Soarer from Auto to Manual in a garage with just 2 jacks and standard jack stands.

My Old man seen where Ryan , lol .
But trying to put an auto back in by yourself on the ground would be a nightmare . I'm a strong lad and using a hoist it was heavy gettin if up and in place ! And that was with an empty box and new empty convertor !

I did an a340 in the driveway about 10 years ago as a fairly fit 20 something and it was a painful experience then and I would never ever do it in hindsight!
