| Hi guys got my valve body out and ready to put the new one in, but there are gaskets all over the standard valve body where it bolts up to the gearbox. Are new gaskets needed to fit on the new valve body? Or use silicon? Or use nothing??? I cant find any reference to this anywhere and now im stuck at my brothers work and he needs to leave soon. Any urgent advice would be great!! |

| Yep, Needs gaskets and it should have new ones, as the used ones will be compressed and unable to take up the imperfections of the new part. |

| I assumed that when you buy the valve body off mv that it was meant to be ready to go and put straight in. The way the stock gasket fits is by part of the valve body being removed the gasket placed across the whole unit and then this part bolted back down to the rest of the valve body, basically sandwiching the gasket. Why wouldn't mv put a gasket on while they have it all apart? |

| Should look like this,
Gasket is sandwiched between the two halves of the valve body. This is the side that bolts up to the gearbox. |

| Yeah that's the problem, the valve body I bought from MV did not have this gasket, it's just bare metal. Should it have come with one already fitted? Or are we meant to fit them ourselves, or are we meant to use silicon? |

It should have come already fitted. Was the valve body bought from MV Automatics? |

| Well after stressing all weekend about having to pull my new valve body out and sending it back and fitting up a new one with the gasket, to my utter delight some luck has gone my way. I just got off the phone to MV who said that with their new valve bodies they modify them so much that they delete the gasket altogether and machine the face flat instead.
