I've just fitted a mines ECU and haven't had a great deal of time to run it in, but on the couple of decent runs I've had, the gearbox hangs on first and second gear way past the point of the motor making power.
I've tried shifting manually, in power and normal modes but it makes no difference. Even slightly lifting doesn't make it shift. As such, the benefits of the ECU aren't showing when I'm fully up it. I ran a 14.9 @ 160 stock and with the ECU I've done a 15.1 @ 165.
Is there anything I can do to make it shift earlier? Or is it just the ECU learning my car?

Have you done the ecu reset properly? your meant to shift through the gear selectors with a pause say every 3 seconds or so...down from P,R,N,D,2 to 1 then up again to P from initial start up...then take your car for a good run and it should relearn your driving behaviour...
I run a Blitz Access....basically the same as your Mines one and found the shifts much more responsive and smoother without the usual popping/retardation that you get between gear changes on the stock ecu

No I swapped ECU but didn't do any resetting. I'll do that before I drive it next.
Shift points are way up there. Like gets to max rpm and holds for 2/3sec then shifts. I've been too busy to look at the rpm but it definitely hangs. When I'm driving normally, or even into it a little (1/2 throttle-ish) it shifts great.
All the other times are almost identical or slower, due to it hanging in first gear too long. 0-100 was 7.1 now is about 7.8ish.

Sounds like some other things are at play here, bad solenoids, somethings up with the ECU, or its not getting the right information from a specific sensor.... hard to say.
A ECU reset as mentioned above would be a good starting point.
Otherwise you would need a custom controller to change the shift points.
Otherwise, have you got a shift kit? This will improve your gearshift performance considerably.
The other issue, I know the 1UZ + autos do is retard the ignition timing at high RPM before the gear change giving the illusion its running out of power, but in fact the ECU is deliberately reducing the power/torque output to maintain a smooth shift!
The 1JZ + A340e might also do this.

I just reset the ECU and it's a lot better. 1 and 2 shift at 6500 on the dot.
But! My speedo seems now to have an issue, as I buried it (ran 3rd to 5000rpm) and I was doing 127kph! I'd say it was closer to 227!
Stuffed if I know what's going on there but I noticed when I did runs with dynoliscious, my max speeds were 160-165 but my speedo didn't go past 125ish.
