Since I have had my 32 I notice not only that it is more economical than my 31 but that it changes down just like I would expect a normal car to do when you apply more than normal pedal.

I have become accustomed to changing down manually whenever I want more go in my 31 but I would love to have it do that for me using the kickdown system.

Can someone tell me how to adjust this?

thanks in advance.

Sounds like the ecu in your 31 is beginning to die.

Dan, I had the caps done about 2 years ago but maybe not enough. What else can I do or do they just get beyond it? If so, what is the next step? An aftermarket wolf for $2000?

Is there a way that the original ECU can be fully tested and overhauled?

suggestions that don't cost the earth?

How to adjust the cables Tom?
That is actually what I was asking when Dan said that it sounded like the ECU was dying.

I think he was referring to my economy, rather than my kickdown. Is that right Dan?

My cruise control cable was tight and good but my throttle cable needed a bit more, I had done it once before but obviously not enough as it is kicking down now but not as quickly as my 32. No worries as I have become accustomed to changing manually when I want to get hussling.
Thanks Tom.

Dan, any suggestions to get that ECU in top condition so it gives better economy. Tom's gets about 8klms per litre around town while mine gets about 6.5 klms per litre once it is warm, before that it gets 5!! I have extra slippery oil and all new ignition and 180 psi compression all round.
