Sam If Lew's one is the early model, I can help you out with a brand new C's late model one to suit a 94 onwards Soarer that I never got to use.

I have the stage 1 kit, and unless I am accelerating over rough surface, my 265 hankooks will not chirp under gear change. I have my line pressure cable set so that under WOT it is at max.

thanks for all the helpful detail and information, i been told once i use the short shift kit on my soarer and i will get a little bit more power and drive easy and better right? it really doeasn't matter which brand of short shift kit i go to, as long as it can fit my 95 model TT then will do. $380 is sound ok for me, but can it fit my 95 TT? how can i know about it? what is the different stage 1 or 1.5 or 2? which one i should go to?

Sam, you might be talking different things. These guys are talking about a shift kit to make the auto gearbox shift harder. You are talking a short throw shift lever kit for a manual, which won't make any more power at all. It just makes the changes feel nicer to your hand and you can probably throw it through the gears a bit quicker.

Yes Sam, 20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear. They were worth $3800 at the time of purchase but I didn't have to pay that much thankfully. Tyres are Falken 451s from memory.

hi guys, i just finished install the short shift kit for my manual soarer 95 model, when i shift the gear is better, but is very hard to shift, i mean i feel very heavy to shift the gear, is this normal? The shift kit is C's brand. Please tell me. Thx

You fitted a shorter shifter? You have less leverage. It is harder to shift. Sounds pretty normal to me.

Yep, it's meant to be, for the reasons David gave above. But it should feel short, precise - better overall. Give it a few weeks - I've no doubt you'll grow to love it

Sam, I'm sure one of the other manual buffs can verify, but I'm pretty sure it'll wear in a bit, become a bit softer after a bit of use. Just remember to continually change the gearbox oil regularly with Motul Redline oil and it should be sweet. Good luck.

1) The manual buffs checked in 2) It's Redline MTL - AFAIK there is no Motul Redline - for manuals or autos

Haha, Where did I get Motul from? Oi, manual buff, does it wear in, or did I dream that too, like my imaginary oil?

Guys after Neil installed my shift kit, i adjusted the cable to near max whiplash. I dont know if its just me but my launch is crapper but the shift is harsher.

Upgraded torque converter will get you the launch without snapping your neck on gear changes.

I've adjusted the cable to max whiplash. Yes indeed max whiplash but so crap off the line. Its going back to near factory standard as the V8's already have such a bad launch as is I dont want to make it any more worse unless i fork out more cash for the stall/torque convertor.

The torque converter allows the engine to operate in a higher rev range where it s making more power and converts revs to torque. This will be ore noticeable when a high stall converter is used on a V8 'cos the TT already has 2600 stall from factory whereas V8 has 2200 so increasing stall to 2700 or 2800 will be a bigger change on the V8. maybe TT needs 3000 stall.
