This car has always had a harsh change between O/D and third at cruising speed (100-120KPH). It seems to be worse when the cruise control is in use and a hill approaches. All other changes are very smooth.I do not know the history of the car and I have it booked in to get a transmission service in the next week or so and would like to know if there is anything to look for while the sump is off.

Flush the ATF and make sure you use Toyota Type IV.

ATF = Auto Transmission Fluid.

Only thing you can do is try put new trans fluid in.

You'll have to take it to an Auto trans specialist
