Hi Guys, I have a 1JZ single turbo fitted with a A341e gearbox.

That gearbox has decided to die and I think I'm going to have to replace the box with a A340. Does anyone know if its a straight swap. Im assuming the bellhousing may need to be interchanged between the boxes

assuming you have a A341 from a jza70 supra or a jzx90 chaser maybe, the box should bolt right up. I don't know why, but the A340 is a stronger box than the A341. See if you can afford to put an MV Automatics upgraded valve body in it, makes them last heaps longer again.

the 1jz motor is from the jzx81 chaser. The A341e box came with this model.

I'm thinking it might be easier and quicker to have the box rebuilt rather than trying to source another box.

Its starting to get confusing trying to find if any other boxes for the 1jz will fit. The electrics and sensors might be different
