I know most people use Transmax Z when they have a powerful 1J and its auto, but Penrite have a fully senthetic fluid and its priced $20 cheaper!
Im not sure if its recommended for Toyota boxes, so before i go and throw in $120 worth of fluid, has anyone used it, and whats your thoughts?
I have just got a price for Transmax Z, $65 for 4litres, so if i need 12 litres, thats $200 for just fluid! I know i want my auto to survive this time, but the fluid is as expensive as the bloody auto itself!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows any factory direct type places that i might find it cheaper, let me know
Thanks peoples! Ben
PS- new auto goes in on the 6th, skylines, supras and porsche's beware

well thanks! ahaha
Well this is the info i found about the Penrite ATF fluid (suited to our boxes) and Transmax Z, plus Penzoil synthetic ATF and Mobile Synthetic ATF.
Density at 15 degrees Penrite = 0.855 Transmax Z = 0.836 Penzoil Syn= 0.878 Mobile Syn = N/A
Viscosity at 100 degrees Penrite = 7.9 Transmax Z = 7.1 Penzoil Syn= 7.23 Mobile Syn = 7.6
Visocosity Index (lower the number the more it changes from thick to thin when the temp changes) Penrite = 209 Transmax Z = 170 Penzoil Syn= 182 Mobile Syn = 199
Pour Point Degrees (the lowest temp it can pour in certain conditions) Penrite = -48 Transmax Z = -60 Penzoil Syn= -57 Mobile Syn = -54
EDIT! WOW! looks like Penrite wins it. and its $20 cheaper! Transmax seems to be more stable at low temps, but Penrite is more stable through temp changes.
