Yeah GReddy make one, seen it for sale on importbitz for $250.

I might look into changing the setup in a few months time.

what is the advantage though? You can get Sard 850's side feed high impedance for $135 per injector including the collars which they say are required. These will slot straight in to stock fuel rail.

So you would have to buy a top feed rail, make sure it fits and doesn't leak. (have heard of some having issues) and then buy 6 new top feed injectors which seem to be basically the same price.

IMO if you have the right sized injectors and you aren't going to increase fuel pressure then I can't see a reason to go top feed unless you want to run some 1700cc injectors or something crazy.

People say that the stock fuel rail doesn't flow enough at certain power levels but has anyone tested this and I would think it would have to be some crazy hp before that happens.

Am I missing something?

The fuel lines become a problem as well, so the whole system would need to be upgraded.

Well, Old thread but Re-using :-)

I had a stage 1 shift kit installed in my soarer this week and am extremely happy with the results. Nice shift at light throttle ( which i was expecting harsher, so a bonus i guess).

But will turn the tyres slightly into 2nd gear and 3rd also. I need new tyres though.

Took it to WSID on wednesday night. With a Slippery track ( OMG 15 second cars were losing traction) I managed to run 13.0's to 13.2's at 107-109mph with a best of a 2.14 60 footer, and all 2.2 60 footers for the rest of the night. No traction off the line and losing traction into 2nd gear as well as slightly chirping 3rd.

Hoping with some new tyres, New regapped plugs and a good track to get back into the 1.9 60 footers again and run some 12.6-12.7 passes at 109-110mph hopefully.

Wont be until the end of the month or until the Soarer meeting.

Bottom line ..... Shift kit is Bloody Awsome. Full boost into the next gear, ZERO lag and NO POPPING ( take note Cihan :-) )

somethign i find amazing with this thread and other stories i have heard.

guys with 200 rwkw speak of breaking traction from 2nd to 3rd gear change at say 130 kmh.

on my 18 inch simmons with crappy nexan 265/35/18 at 500 rwhp on the street my car does not break traction on 2nd to 3rd gear change at the same speed.

would love for some one to explain how that is. also keeping in mind i have a MV race auto with the bad boy shift kit thats like being hit up the arse with a mack truck each gear change

BY breaking traction in 2nd to 3rd gear i mean just more than a chirp.

But lookin at my tyres, they seem to be in need of replacing. I used to have a single wheeler in, so my drivers side rear tyre is FUBAR. Left rear aint much better, so im guessing this aint helping me much. I run 265/35/18 Nangkang's on the rear. Normally they are pretty good, but im just guessing the track was in crap condition and my tyres didnt help.

I guess i cant come up with any other reasons. I have driven Jeff SMith's car and i noticed it didnt break traction, btu he does run less boost than me and his tyres were basically brand new at the time.

Its not something thats cool, as i want traction and those fast gear changes to hopefully shave some tenths of my 1/4 mile times.

And SHane...... Congrats on the 10.1 mate. You fly the 1JZ flag very high for all of us. CHeers

I also do notice, if i let the gearbox change in drive, it shift slightly lower than it used to ( say 5800) and doesnt turn the tyres much on the 1st to 2nd gear change. BUT if i hold it to 6800-7000 in 1st and shift 2nd manually, it realy kicks the ass out.

Must be the powerband in the next gear i guess. Anyways, off to drive i go:-)

MV 1.5 kit, was preinstalled, have no idea about costs.

Between 1-2 with 245 Pzeros, it would actually start tractioning out at the top end of 1st, then give a couple of meters of light spin into second, and just chirp into third.

Shane: Does the cressy have a solid or IRS rear? Also with the hard suspension us guys have, we are more likely to break traction. Although yeah, I cant imagine the 2-3 really wheelspinning into 3 all that much. Converter settings woul dalso change things, and manual cars would be more likely to kane into 3'rd with a bit of accidental clutch dumping!

I cant imagine driving a TT soarer at least without one. Its friggin awesome, teh best changes Ive felt in an auto car. I can only imagine what some of the guys with AT controllers feel when they manually shift a kitted auto. Must be insanity, with no engine retarding or power loss bewtween shifts... :-)

Shane it sounds like your gearbox is unlocked. Alot of the people who rip 2nd and 3rd have locked up gearboxes.

MV 1.0 Shift kit. Was intrusive the first 3 months then settled down. Now I couldn't live without it.

Gear changes are almost immediate and the o/d button works well to induce engine breaking. Almost like driving a manual - almost.

$639 fitted. One of the best mods I've done.

your lock up clutch activates at cruising speeds, if your lock up clutch was activated on a gear change, you would be seeing gearbox fragments come through the floor of your car and chop your feet off.

the factory ecu only locks up at cruising speed, i have mine on a manual switch and i lock it up one the track in third gear.

as for rear end, im factory cressida arse end, so irs and squat just like a soarer.

suspension would have a bit to play, but still seems funny.

i have driven a buddies jzz30 with about 200rwkw, and it had a trd clutch in it, it was awlays a bitch for wanting to light the tyres.

Mine locks up at WOT in 3rd gear at the track, About the 135km/h mark. Kinda sounds like it flat spots but thats the lockup and pulls me home from there.

Obviously Shane, you just dont have enough power. I really think you should spend some money and time working on that.

On another topic, I read through your Zoom article again, I love that car. I think I might have to subscribe to Zoom because of it.

Mine is the same, when I had my shift kit done they disabled my lock up. I got it re-enabled a month ago and it definitely locks up in 3rd gear above 135km, you can hear it hesitate and then VROOOOOOOOOOM all the way to speed cut :-)

My one diffinately wasn't locking up at 3rd at wot until i got the suprastick and configured it to. Yeah it's weird when it locks. Whats even weirder is locking in 2nd with WOT, then unlocking changing to thrid and locking again.

Be interesting to see if locking 2nd improves the ET and MPH.
