Around $1,000 from Jim Berry in Brissy :-)

Or $70 (roughly) for a stock new friction plate :-)

Just getting one installed.

That includes JUN lighted flywheel and Exedy Clutch plates (sports organic), oil, labour etc etc.

Total cost $1,700 <---- is this a good price? :-)

Mines shudders when I take off sometimes so I'm gonna take it to the AHG driving center in a few weeks and punish it for it's impudence.

And SO you should Tom.
I mean the impudence of the pup!.

You MUST tell the little fooker who's Boss!........and is it the clutch?.......No!No!Noooo!, it's EWE!.

Ewe are in CONTROL........not the pesky clutch, I mean WHAT is a "Clutch"?.

I've heard of a clutch of eggs, I've heard of a clutch of Turkeys (Some of which, are present on this forum!), BUT, I've NEVER heard of a clutch of .......clutch's.

BUT, then, what the fluck wood eye no!.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, PLEASE CALL AGAIN!

I have recently had a clutch slip problem and it was quite cheap to fix (if you had the same problem as me).

my takeoff was fine, first second and into third gear was fine, but on the highway in 4th gear at 100km/hr if i put my foot down and the turbos spooled up the clutch would slip.

to be more precise the engine revs would increase faster than the cars speed was increasing and then eventually level out again.

an email to a few forum members suggested i try changing just the clutch Friction Plate instead of the whole clutch (assuming you use a standard clutch). my local Toyota dealer called up Melbourne Toyota and i got the friction plate for...

wait for it...

$64!!!

i took it to the local transmission guy and had it fitted for $275.

the local transmission guy was persistent that it was probably a buggered pressure plate but said he would drop the box and see what the friction plate was like. in my case it was evenly worn on both sides right down to the rivets and was just the friction plate i needed.

hope that helps.

p.s. i also got ripped off by an un named source who charged me $130 for a "Used 1JZ Standard Clutch" but only sent me a badly worn friction plate. after a lot of debating back and fourth i managed to get my money back and paid $64 for a brand new one from toyota.

hope that helps, dont hesitate to email me mate.

thats the thing i dunno where its a stock clutch or not, but i guess for $64 its worth taking it out and having a look see. how much power are the stock clutchs good for.
