I am looking at buying a 1988 Twin Turbo 2.0l Soarer the only problem is it's got a stuffed torque converter and I was wondering how much it would cost to get that fixed? Whether i should replace it with standard one or get a better one if so how much are they installed (roughly). Thanx for your help

firstly, how do you know it is stuffed? You could get a replacement one pretty cheap on toymods I would imagine as most people don't want the autos. I sold my old box for $50. You can then get it rebuilt and the stall changed which turns it into an as new converter. I would recommend a slightly higher stall as the gz20 doesn't really get moving until 4000rpm.
The guy sellin it told me it was. I am getting it fully looked over at a mechanics. However it hardly moves at the moment and he is one of my good mates and knows his stuff. Yeah so would I be able to get away with rebuildin it and getting stall changed and getting it installed for under $800 or so?

I got a 1jz converter modded, rebuilt, furnace blazed and stall changed for $360 at QLD torque converters. Should be able to get it done for a similar price somewhere down there.
