Has first gear , when shifted to second it misses and goes to drive and wen in drive it does not kik back to 1st or second reminds in drive..

Could this be a solnoid or a speed sensor or gearbox broken?

Probably a broken keyboard for starters.

Your description doesn't match any of the faults I can remember reading about, maybe someone else has a better idea though.

Sounds like a solenoid problem. Cheap & easy to replace Justin.
Get an auto specialist to check your solenoids.

My 92 Soarer V8 recently has started having gear problems, it's periodicly jumping from 1st gear to o/d in drive without me pushing any buttons. When I pull it down to 2nd it's been only changing to 3rd. When pulling down to first (after slowing down a bit) from 2nd it changes to first resulting in revs going up and the car taking off like a rocket. Solenoid problems as well you think??

ECT computer issues perhaps?
How long since the last transmission service?

Tranny was serviced about a year ago, I stuck lucas transmission treatment into the transmission about a year ago as well hoping to quiet the trans down a bit. Has been working fine until recently. This problem comes and goes, today it was happening and when I pushed o/d button the o/d light started flashing with a ETC warning flashing. Am I in for some major transmission problems. I've had the soarer for over two years and this is my first major problem.

Dosen't sound like a biggy Patrick..........just the usual Shift Solenoid problem.

If you do a search (assuming you haven't already) using <solenoid> as the criteria, you will find lots of info regarding cost (not big) and how long it takes (not long).
