In order to get a uprated stall convertor from MV autos they need to know the spline count on the jzz30 auto soarer. Now I'm too lazy to pull my one out to have a look, to have to do the job twice. So I was hoping someone already had an auto from a 1991 jzz30 soarer laying around that they could do a spline count for me.

There are two types of spline sizes, 20 & 26, from memory.

Your best bet would be to take out your own convertor and tell MV the size.

MV can send you another convertor within 3days.

Don't forget to send your old stall convertor, He seem to be running out

Damn it. I was hoping that wasn't the answer. Looks like might have to pull the thing out twice.

From memory, my jzx81 auto was 20 spline. I would imagine that all 1jz autos would be the same. I am pulling my jzx90 auto out this weekend and fitting the jzx81 modded converter in there so I will count then :-)

Took the box out on the weekend and found the input shaft was a 20 spline. Ordered a 3200rpm stall converter from MV autos, around $440 delivered.

Good stuff mate.

That should get your car off the line a bit better.

I received my second converter from Qld Torque converters last week. I had to get it redone after the first one was not loose enough. This one is guaranteed to go to 4000rpm :-)

I was actually hoping to bypass the 12's. Last time was only on 14psi in 34deg air temp. WIll be cooler and I will not be scared this time and run 20+psi :-)

I won't be racing for a while yet. Got heaps of stuff I want to get done.

Sort boost control.

Install knock sense.

Try your ignition map.

Then install cams and retune.

Then pull out engine, install new stally and rewire car without all the mess.

Awsome Ben. I might come out and watch. Unless Niall Has my car finished Wednesday, then i will go racing.

WSID is trialling Friday night runs for the next few weeks... SO dont just limit yourself to Wednesday night. Probably less on a friday night imo.

Awesome wednesday and friday now. I'd say friday well be packed with ricers, wednesday well be hardcore v8's as usual.

Poor v8 soarers get put in the holden/ford v8 line at wsid.

oh only 40, thats like do a run, drive down the return road, do a u turn and do another run with no queue I went there when about 150 cars turned up on a wednesday and got 3 runs in about 1 hour which was bloody amazing compared to when it was at the old eastern creek track, which was like 3 runs in 4 hours.

I think the reason is because your not allowed to do a burnout now past the start line. They have a burnout patch now for the bogans.

I just had mine out
there are dual splines
20 inner
38 outter
and mines a 91 TT turbo car.

Which leads me to a question within a question
Theres a 3mm spacer and a bevelled plate that bolt on with the flex plate.
Does anyone know the ORDER in which the stuff goes back together ?
I cant remember the order it came apart but think it goes:

3mm spacer / flexpate / large flat plate / bolts

does anyone recall ?
