Hey guys,
i've just taken my 91 V8 in to get a quote for a 'new' reconditioned compressor, and a retrofit. Was quoted $610 for the compressor, $330 for the retrofit and $100 to fit it all. Just wondering if this sounds about right as i have no idea about these things. The guy also said that i may need a new TX valve, but he'll have to wait til after he's fitted everything else and see how the air's running.

Also, just a bit off topic, does anyone know a reasonably prices panel beater/ painter in Brissie? My housemate scratched the front righthand bumper of my car, and mean BARELY scratched and i've been quoted $250, $330 and $420 to get this fixed. One quote included $200 for paint. (I have a standard silver soarer) I just think they may be trying to take me for a ride? Or does this sound about right?

Thanks Ashley,
I was quoted $1200 for a new compressor from Toyota, and am a bit short for cash but am desperate to get the aircon fixed as soon as possible, this heat is drivin me nuts. If you know anywhere in Brisbane i can get a new compressor for around the same price as yours, that would be great. Or if you know how much it would cost to send one up to Bris from where u are?

Call Castle Hill Toyota
They can next day one to you.
http://chtoyota.com.au/

That's where I got mine from.
I'd be quick because heaps of people are after one and I have no idea how many they have. Also pick up a new dry air filter as well. You'll need one when they fit it.

Good luck, let me know how you go, mines going in on Tuesday.

(put a pic of your soarer up on your profile!)
