I've called around a couple of wreckers chasing a ac compressor for a 94 model tt soarer and they have basically all laughed at me.
How do I go about getting one and what sort of money am I looking at if I don't pay to get it fitted? Also what is the best option, reco, 2nd hand or brand new?

Hi Caroline,

If you want to get a new A/C Compressor, you can contact James Sloane at Castle Hill Toyota:

http://www.chtoyota.com.au/parts.asp

Also Tell him you in the Soarer Club to get the best price.

If you get a new A/C Compressor it will last for another 10 years+ and if you going to get a second hand one, dont know how long that will last.

Ok thanks for that, any idea how much that will set me back? Also do I need anything else other than the compressor like lines or anything?

I got a new A/C compressor for my V8 and cost me $1370 which include using the new R134 gas and install.

Anyway i'm not sure if the V8 A/C compressor is the same as the TT.

Also i think you will also need to change the A/C gaskets and O rings too.
