Hi guys,

ever since i did my fmic install my aircon hasn't been as cold as it used to. I know that the fmic sits in front of the aircon condensor but is it just a coincidence? I guess this question really goes out to those who have FMIC's and what they've done to upgrade their aircon. Do i need a better compressor or maybe upgrade the condensor? If so what options do i have?

Well, mine is just as cold now, as it was before my FMIC. Maybe you need a re gas. Just go get it checked out!!

Yep I changed to a new compressor with upgraded to the new gas. Even today it was 40C, the air-con is still cool and i just set to 21C.

I had all the works done at Sports & Luxury Cars!!

New compressor with new R134 gas cost $1,370 and I had this done when I had the timing belt and water pump done.

So total cost me $2,903.

They charged $80 an hour.

im guessing that the problem could also be that you may not be getting the right amount of air flow across you condenser due to the fmic being stuck infront of it now and/or the air temp hitting you condenser isn't ambient temp anymore coz you got fmic, it will raise temperature of the air hitting your condenser above the ambient.

i think it's the closer 2 temperatures are together the slower the rate of heat transfer.

remember this system was designed without a fmic infront of the condenser.

system may need a lil' tweeking wouldn't say add gas if its the correct charge for a stock car, you may need to take some gas out if your condenser isn't condensing the gas by the time it gets to the txv

I have a big front mount (as per previous post above) and I am getting air out my vents at 3 degrees. Just get the system working properly!
