Hey all,

I've got a big leak in my radiator and I'm looking for rough ideas on what it would cost to fix /repair.

It started as a pinhole just below the cap on the seam. It got a bit bigger so as stopgap I threw in one of those radiator blocker liquids.

A week later and its gotten worse. Basically needed to pour in a good litre after a 45 min drive. it's pretty bad so I need to get it fixed/replaced asap.

Anyone got ideas on costs to do this? Or at least recommend someone in Brisbane?

Thanks

Hi mate, Red devil radiators did my top tank. $265 but you have to take it out yourself and put it back in. They will clean it out, pressure test and paint it for ya....looks brand new.

Taking out the radiator is VERY easy, but you will obviously need new coolant for $45 at toyota (which it sounds like you need anyway!)

TT tanks can be done fairly cheaply if you shop around. Ben had his done for >$150 - he removed and fitted it himself.

V8 tanks are a low more expensive however :-(

Until you get it done, undo the radiator cap one stop and drive carefully. Without any pressure it won't leak as fast.

Why is the v8 radiator different? Its not like it pumps out more power haha.

From ringing around, they don't seem to sell so many, so maybe they last longer like the rest of the engine. :-)
