Since i've owned my car, air has never come through the center air vents and no matter what is selected, it always comes out all the other vents.

I've pulled the center console out and the vents to see if it was blocked but cannot find a blockage. What could be the issue with
a) center vents not working, and
b) why it comes out all others constantly even when not selected.

Hi All,
Found this old post which is relevant to me now,
I sent Rusty a PM to see if he had a solution and as yet no reply. So thought I would ask the forum before I put the centre console back. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
Michael

Same deal here, i just finished putting my car back together after heater core change, now i dont have any centre vent or demister??
Must have missed a plug somewhere.
Im not to bothered, i will pull it back apart later on, i can still drive for now.
But yeah, any info where to go straight away to look would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Remickz,
Here is what I have since found out.
The front/center vents work when the front and rear demister is engaged and work as part of the climate control meaning that sometimes they are not engaged.
My A/C needs a regass (I hope thats all) so its difficult to tell if it is all working correctly.
I'm new to the car and am still working a lot of things out.
cheers

hmmmm, interesting, i drained the gas obviously to do the heater core, so i do need it re-filled.
But as far as i remember, when i got the car a while back AC didnt work (AC compressor clutch gone) but i still had all my Air functions. Guess i will start by re-gassing one day soon.
Let me know if you find any more out.
