hi everyone , when have the headlights off the screen is lit up when i turn them on the light goes off.... does anyone know what the hell is going on here.....

sorry i cant help on this one, but i have the same problem too but soon i will be finding the 'dimmer' wire (if avaliable) and i shall cut it (yes i know, it sounds dodgy' but it will probably save me a couple $$$, if i suceed, ill let you know

Owen if you turn the dimmer switch all the way to the right (so it clicks into position) it will keep the lights from dimming when the headlights come on (your entire instrument panel will also stay fully lit).

the dimmer switch is already full , i also realised the gear select lights go out on the shifter when i tunr the headlights on aswell, something might have been done wrong when the cd player was installed , can anyone tell me whether the a/c lights should be on when the headlights are off , thanks boys

owen, the a/c backlight should be on once you turn the key to the "on" position, and hence should be on when the car is running. the a/c button lights (auto,off, recirc,fresh etc) should come on once you turn the headlights on.
if i was you i would check to see if the installers have wired up the cd illumination wire incorrectly. i've installed plenty of headunits in the past, and never worry about this wire. if you dont connect it, it just means that all the lights on the headunit will be on all the time..no biggy.
