Hello, well had a weird thing happen the other day.
discovered i didnt have a belt on my a/c unit so picked one up from toyota and put it on, at first it was ok but after a few minutes the pulley started making a really weird sound (like it was crunching on something as it was turning), didnt change with or without the ac on. so took the belt off and havent touched it since.....
ny ideas
could i just spray some sort of lubricant onto the pulley to make it spin a bit more freely?
oh btw my car is an mz21 soarer gtl

No, bearings making that kind of noise are shot, It will need replacing ASAP. If you leave it you risk causing expensive damage.

Depends on what the setup is like. Bearings are generally quite cheap unless you have to get them as part of another part. Replacing them can sometimes be tricky if they need pulling and then re-pressing into place.

I don't know anything about the mz21 Soarer, so I have no idea what is required for replacing it.
