Hi guys,
Have done a bit of a search on this subject, and have found a little info, but not what I'm looking for.
From what I can see from searching, the idle control valve may have some effect on this.
Basically, my idle is fine when the A/C is off, or when its not cooling/running the compressor, but when it kicks in, the idle does go up quite a bit, maybe to 1200RPM+, which I think is a bit high, and possibly dangerous. If you are sitting at an intersection, brake lightly applied and the engine suddenly ups its revs, theres a chance of jumping forward.
So, my question is, is it easy to adjust the idle-up when the A/C kicks in ?? Ideally, it should be able to be set so that it doesnt change the RPM too much. Sure, more load on the motor needs a little more fuel, but not the way mine is working now.
Any pointers would be good..

I have been in a couple of cars with the aircon compressor running and the rpm around the 1000rpm level which seems to be norm.
I dont know for sure, but is there a possibility that if the compressor is labouring excessively (ie, due to lack of gas or lubricant or because it has siezed up) is there a possibility that the ECU alters revs proportionally? I cant answer this nor do i know how much truth there would be to such a claim.. ;)
