Hey Guys,
The other day I was driving through Brisbane and while taking off from a set of lights, my friend and I heard a hissing gas sound in the cabin followed by a few bubbling noises?
Now these noises seem to have been coming from the front of the cabin and near the console and the passengers side.Straight after this happened, there was a strong musty-oily smell in the cabin and this smell is still present in the cabin but not as strong.
Was this a air-con gas leak ? My air-con still works well (nice and cold) or could it be a big capacitor somewhere that's blown its head ?

Yeah it works fine and after this event happened I ran the air-con on cold max and well it was cold.I have it set back on auto at 25 degrees and its going fine.
Am I right in thinking that if this was a air-con leak (it happened 2 weeks ago) it would have run out of gas by now?

Is your water level fine? I only ask coz strong musty-oily smell might mean you've popped a tiny hole in your heater matrix. It seems odd that the AC is working as per normal, and IF it was the heater matrix I would expect to see a wet patch of carpet in the passengers footwell after two weeks

I had a look at the water level today Don and it looks fine, I also had a look for wet carpet on the passengers side and its all dry.
Yeah Michael i did do a foot to the floor take off but only for a second or 2 (dam tipple plate clutch). Would the A/C compressor turning off make the hissing and bubble sounds ?
Or maybe I need to get a new gerbil as this 1 has a few ks on her and the O ring is a little lose........
