Compressor has had it and making ugly noises. Can i run a serpintine belt bypassing the AC till i get it fixed?

What about just switch the A/C off? The pulley should then just spin freely on the compressor.

Could be, which is probably cheaper to fix too. :-)

I ran mine without the compressor ok, so long as things rotate the correct way.

Its worse with the compressor off. So i think it could just be one of the sealed bearings on the pulley. Fingers crossed. What size belt did you run dave?

Can't remember Andrew, as the AC guys did it.
If you need to do it yourself you may need to run some string around and see what you end up with but I'd be tempted to leave it to the experts.
