Hi all.

been looking round for ways to restore / change the climate control backlighting.

my climate unit works, but has no backlight.
i picked up another unit today (thanks to Andrew McKellar) now i'll stick that one in my car next weekend.

once that's done, ill have a bash at modifying the old one.

came across these two posts and thought it looked promising....

has anyone here in oz done this ?
i'm not sure which colour i like best.
white looks so clean, but the blue looks nice too.

the blue might be too bright at night though..

what are everyone's thoughts ?

Jason.

Im pretty sure Shane Mcinnes Has the White version in his car, done by the late Mark P !

Looks great, Blue would be too annoying trust me, I have my Turbo timer and Profec B and they have small blue annoying screens!

Im in the process of doing this now myself, just replaced the LCD screen (just before the group buy, DAMN!)

At present I have bought 3 screw type blue LEDs to replace the stock backlighting (didnt see the need for cold cathode tubes, this places a nice even spread of light as it is!)

I am just trying to source some blue LEDs for the A/C, and fresh/recirc lights. Thinking i will keep defoggers stock...

Problem is I am in TAS, and short of dick smith and useless jaycar stores, I cannot find LEDs small enough to place in the spot where the stock bulbs go! Can anyone help with this? I plan to do the blue dash conversion also, and change all interior lighting to blue (instruments) and pure white (interior lights) LEDs eventually

Will post pics of my failures / success when I am finally done.

Thanks for the heads up too Daniel, but once i installed my black / blue screened apexi t/t, the whole blue lighting looks appealing
