Went to a mechanic yesterday as the AC has not worked since I bought my mid life crisis some 14 months ago. I was hoping that all it would need was regassing but in the back of my mind things are never that easy. The mechanic showed me where the gas had been weeping out the hose and he said that he would get one made. he said anywhere from $140 to $250. Does this sound right.

Depends on the hose I suppose. You might have some luck with a 2nd hand one from a wreckers.
