Would anyone have any diagrams on the soarers heating system? My heater is not working at all and I would like to diagnose it, but I have no documentation on the soarer. Please point me to to any diagrams or manuals on the heater system Thank you, from a very cold person in Canada

| Hi Neil, it's probably the VSV valve and can be bypassed. Located here.

is it the same for TT and V8? would bypassing mean the heat will be on at all times? thanks, Neil

Yes and yes. Bypassing actually involves just changing the little vacuum tubes that activate it, so it could be easily reversed until it's replaced.

Briefly, the temp control in the car activates the a servo allowing the vacuum to open the heater water valve. If the VSV motor dies, then nothing works. The bypass feeds the vacuum direct to the valve causing the hot water to flow all the time.

To bypass the VSV, you should be able to pull the hose coming from the manifold off the VSV end at the bottom, then hook it to the top of the diaphragm dome instead of the short hose there now.

Thanks Peter, I know exactly how to diagnose my issues now. I will keep you posted.

I have bypassed the actuator so I know its either the VSV Valve of the electrical input to the VSV valve (the heat works). I wish there was a manual like the toyota supra repair manual for our cars. These things give a step by step procedure to diagnose and repair anything in the car. Anything like that available for the soarer? I want to know what voltages should be going to the switch or if the voltages are pulsed. Thanks, Neil

It should be the same as for the Supra. Look for 12v in the female plug on the harness side. You can also replace it with a Camry VSV fairly cheaply, but you need to cut/solder the plug from the old one to the new one.

Toyota part # 88690-32280. Though it may have changed as that is a couple of years old when it was around $70.

| Hey ewe's fella's.........The only number I've got is the gen-u-wine Snoarer one, which is: 87240- 24030 and fits ALL JZZ30 & UZZ3# 1991 - 2000. I think the Camry one was a 93 - 95 4cyl model, but I'm not sure.
