Can you see if the compressor clutch is kicking in?

There are a number of inputs to the climate ECU that will stop the clutch from engaging.

Matt.

Blake mate it sounds like you have a serious leak. When they refill the gas they place a dye in it and check with an ultra vilot light for leaks. They may have missed it. Best bet is that you take your car back to where you had it done and get them to check again for leaks. The only problem is, is that if you have a leak they will re charge you to fill it again.

I had a leak in my Cressy that emptied it in 2 days. It was a big leak in the evaporator core (in the box located inside the dash). I bought a new core from a wrecker, fitted it and re-gassed it and now it's still cold 1 year later. Keep in mind this is after they ran the UV light around the engine bay and couldn't find it, so if your leak is in one of the hoses/o-rings in the engine bay piping, then that will be easier.

Good luck!

If you look at the face of the compressor you should be able to tell the difference when it kicks in. Get someone inside the vehicle to turn on the AC whilst the motor is running and it should be obvious.

That dye only works for slow leaks (like 2-4 weeks minimum).

If it empties basically over night, then they'll need to pressurise the system and go over every joint with soapy water until they find the leak.

If they can't find the leak then there is a good chance its in the evaporater itself (ie, behind the dash). I have heard of quite a few Tx valves leaking.

its behind and kinda under your glove box. If you have ever changed/washed your AC filters you would have seen the very bottom of it.

AS for taking the sucker out.. i wouldnt try and cross that bridge till i REALLY had to

took them 2 gos to get mine right, but they found all the leaks and sorted it out.

Its not always easy to get it all straight away.
