Blake mate it sounds like you have a serious leak. When they refill the gas they place a dye in it and check with an ultra vilot light for leaks. They may have missed it. Best bet is that you take your car back to where you had it done and get them to check again for leaks. The only problem is, is that if you have a leak they will re charge you to fill it again.

I had a leak in my Cressy that emptied it in 2 days. It was a big leak in the evaporator core (in the box located inside the dash). I bought a new core from a wrecker, fitted it and re-gassed it and now it's still cold 1 year later. Keep in mind this is after they ran the UV light around the engine bay and couldn't find it, so if your leak is in one of the hoses/o-rings in the engine bay piping, then that will be easier.

If you look at the face of the compressor you should be able to tell the difference when it kicks in. Get someone inside the vehicle to turn on the AC whilst the motor is running and it should be obvious.
Matt.

That dye only works for slow leaks (like 2-4 weeks minimum).
If it empties basically over night, then they'll need to pressurise the system and go over every joint with soapy water until they find the leak.
If they can't find the leak then there is a good chance its in the evaporater itself (ie, behind the dash). I have heard of quite a few Tx valves leaking.

Blake, I had a similar problem to yours. Turns out I had two leaks. One being the TX valve o ring where it joins the evaporator core and the evaporator itself was leaking. I bought a new TX valve as it was stuffed and got a second hand evaporator core from a member on here. I had the whole thing changed over in a couple of hours. Not a hard job, just a little fiddley in places. I will be getting the aircon tested and gassed this week so fingers crossed they were right with their original diagnostics and my hard work paid off.

Wow I had this same problem . . . . got mine regassed, and about a week later it stopped again. Got the same place to check it out for me, it was a faulty valve (they didn't actually go into it) and they had to get a second hand one. Said it wouldn't cost too much, and yet I just got the invoice the other day for $490 to regas and replace faulty valve.
Sucks!
But I have had icy cold air con for summer, so I suppose I got what I paid for!
