Hey guys im wondering if anyone can tell me how hard it is to intall an air purifier filter into a car that doesnt come with one. A while ago someone said it was pretty easy but that was about it. Anyway i got the whole system in my other Soarer and want to throw it into my new Soarer.

No idea, but it surly can't be too complicated, must just be all the stuff at the parcel shelf, the roller switch in the kick panel, and a few electrical connections? Though I guess the "auto" mode must have some sensors somewhere too?

I got a sub and amp in the boot so unless i run another sub and amp in the parcel shelf then its not really effecting anything. My sub and amp are damn good in the boot and the sound is awesome so i dont really need another sub and amp so thats where the idea of transplanting the air purifiers filter cam from. That and i personally love it, not that i really used it for its ability to remove smelt but i like running it to remove any dust in the air and i hate it settling on the dash and having to clean it every week.

Indeed, I never use mine either unless someone farts in the car. Didn't find it a problem with my ice install as my bass needs are well enough met by the factory sub and a small amp (preferring not to vomit while listening to music), so it can stay there.

I leave mine on Auto and notice that it comes on by itself in some traffic situations, so it is sensing gases to remove. I think it is very useful. Sorry. "used to leave", "noticed", "came on", "was", "thought it was".

Well my charcoal filter is pretty old and because i cant find a replacement filter as they are discontinued and want $500+ i just use it for removing all the dust in the air. For whatever reason i like having the window down slightly at all time and all sorts of dust and finds its way into the cabin. So the air purifier gets a work out there and then all the dust gets caught on the parcel shelf which i later vaccum.

I was quoted a similar price at first, too. Then I was able to get one for around $150 from Castle Hill Toyota in Sydney. I am not sure whether there was a model difference which enabled this result. I had a backup plan to use a smaller LS400 filter and a home-made blanking plate (probably of cardboard) so it was not bypassed.

Yeah Castle Hill like other Toyota Parts dealers can get a 95+ air purifier filter for like $150 but for anything earlier than that its $500 if they can find one.

This option is very easy to put in.From a donor car you need the actual unit, the loom that runs down the passenger side, the switch and the rear parcel shelf with the speaker grill with vents. If your car has the sub then it will have to be removed.
Look in the boot near the parcel shelf, you cant miss it, the thing is huge.
It's a nice feature and I've found it tends to give off that "Soarer" smell, when I removed mine the Soarer smell was never the same, as they have an odor cartridge in them.
