I have the running water sound as well but always thought it sounded like it was coming from the dash in front of the passenger seat. Will try the air bleed trick at the weekend. Air con & heater is working fine otherwise, and definitely no water leaking in the cabin!

Mark, Haven't read thread above yours, but this may help. Running water suggest your cooling system is not full, and has air in it. This could mean you have a cooling system leak somewhere, or your system was not full in the beginning. The leak is most likely not going to be in your cabin, its likely to be in the engine bay somewhere. Potential locations: Small cooling hose to turbo or anywhere else (numerous), radiator, radiator cap, radiator hose, welch plug and head gasket are the common ones. Obviously head gasket is the worrying one, but not common with these engines like 7M engines. Can replace the air with water by parking with nose up steep hill when engine is hot, heater & fan on, engine running. Let idle for a few minutes. Turn engine off. Let cool. Take radiator cap off and top up both the radiator and the overflow bottle to the correct level. Then monitor carefully. Noise shud go away. If it returns, go looking for a source of a leak, which is potentially lethal to your engine.
