Hey all I tried searching for similar thread but couldn't not come up with anything.
I have a 93TT M/T Soarer I would like to completely remove the a/c compressor and run a shorter belt(if possible) I already don't have the condenser in front of the radiator as I needed room for my thermal fans.
I just want to get rid off it its not hooked up none of the lines are so pretty pointless having it on the engine.
If any could please shine some light on this subject for me please.
wether its possible or not

I have done the same, but I have left the A/C comp. in place because it supports the power steering pump. You would have to make up an adjustable bracket, bolt it to the engine block and the bottom of the P/S pump, if you were to completely remove the A/C comp. Then measure up for a belt.

I removed mine completely with no issues at all. The compressor comes out with a little 'wiggling' and a lot of swearing. No issues with the powersteering not being supported. I don't remember anything joining the two, but it has been a while.
On my track car thread (somewhere near the start) I detailed all this, with the part number of the belt you'll need to make it all work.

That sounds familiar. Glad I could help.
I have done a couple of hundred laps with that belt and the way it runs, pulling decent revs, with no problems. If anything you get better contact on a couple of pulleys as a result. No slippage issues.
