Hi Guys,
AC on my soarer works absolutely fine; except one of the vent throws some spongy stuff out. Though I can manage AC by closing that vent, it takes long time to get to desired temperature. Can anyone tell me what that spongy stuff is and from where it is coming? Anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know.

Cheers

There is foam lining in various places that eventually breaks down and blows out. It doesn't appear to affect performance in my experience.

Slow to cool, it may be low on gas.

Foam breaking up, you can rip the dash out and replace it, I don't use the soft spongelike stuff but use something much thicker and stronger, but go too thick and you'll have problems with pushing vents/pipes back, might have to use sticky tape to seal some edges.

For A/C problems, start with a full evac, receiver/drier change and regas.

Yeah its just the perished foam around the close flap edges.

Just gotta be careful when you remove it as it's VERY dirty. If say gets on the velour seats, and you try pick it up without being careful it can disintegrate leaving a nasty mark.
